Counselling and first contact

Counseling covers a broad range of helping and wellness-promoting services provided by licensed professionals. There are many different types of counseling that have evolved to meet the diverse needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.

Individual Counseling

In individual counseling, also known as psychotherapy or talk therapy, the client works one-on-one with a counselor. Sessions focus on the present issues impacting the client’s life, including difficult emotions, relationships, trauma, life transitions, or personal growth. The counselor helps facilitate awareness and strategies for change.

Couples Counseling

Couples counseling helps people having difficulties in their romantic relationship. Sessions involve both partners and the counselor. The focus is on improving communication, deepening intimacy, managing differences, and developing healthy conflict resolution skills. Couples counseling can help prevent separation or divorce.

Family Counseling

Family counseling is designed to nurture change and development in family systems. It provides a structured, supportive setting for families to express feelings, explore relationship dynamics, learn new skills, and find solutions to ongoing issues impacting the family unit.

Group Counseling

In group counseling, a counselor meets with several people at the same time who are experiencing a similar issue, such as anxiety, depression, grief, addiction, or trauma. Groups provide social support and interpersonal feedback from peers facing similar challenges.

Child and Teen Counseling

Child and teen counseling helps young people with issues such as learning disabilities, self-esteem, bullying, anger management, social skills, academic pressures, or family conflicts. Age-appropriate counseling provides kids with coping skills.
